the man is doing his job. he is showing how a program works. he is teaching us, ans we are happy to watch his video. find something to do, rather than make negative comments about a constructive video

OMFG. u people that kno how to use that mouse lik it was a real pencil… HOW DO THEY DO IT?

timmytimmyoSeptember 23rd, 2008 at 11:52 am

its a graphics tablet, not mouse

timmytimmyoSeptember 23rd, 2008 at 11:56 am

because u arent a designer you dont understand the concept generation stage of design and how at this stage the designs are very loose and exxagerated to help communicate the idea across. Being realistic at this stage would restrain the creative mind. And the guy in this video is very talented might i add.

get to art center as quickly as you can! ccs is falling fast and a far, far second in respectability in the professional world. 20 years ago ccs was good. and why would you wanna live in detroit? get the fuck out now, if you can!

sweetsntreatsNovember 12th, 2008 at 2:32 am

this is not how you sketch a car. i think he’s set a picture of a car on his wacom and is tracing the outline.

calladuzNovember 12th, 2008 at 10:35 am

CCS works better for me… they are more connected with the auto industry, Art Center is more ‘artsy’ besides, I hate the snobby environment of the school, I can’t afford a $60K/year art school and being with a bunch of old rich guys as peers. Almost all my ID friends here either got accepted or even attended AC before coming to CCS. Getting a BFA of Auto Design makes you elite anyway.

sweetsntreatsNovember 12th, 2008 at 2:51 pm

i dont know if a BFA in autodesign makes you elite, but ok. whether ccs has more ties with the auto industry is questionable too. either way, you better get bfa quick before the auto makers in detroit all go bankrupt anyway. i graduated from ccs about 12 years ago. it was a school in trouble then and detroit is a city long dead. once you graduate i highly suggest you get experience around the world and dont spend your life in detroit or dearborn. that’s what i did and i never looked back.

Your opinion is your opinion. At least I get paid for it. And no, there is no underlay. If you had practiced what you preach, you should know that and you would have noticed it.

sweetsntreatsNovember 12th, 2008 at 4:28 pm

practice what i preach? i don’t get ur meaning.

dutchy4cNovember 12th, 2008 at 4:34 pm

Simple: If this is not how YOU sketch a car, feel free to demonstrate how a REAL designer does it, since you did not see there was no underlay or anything else on there. I would be interested.

calladuzNovember 13th, 2008 at 4:54 am

Stay within Detroit? Hell no, I despise the city… I would actually prefer going to India (or other emerging car markets), Korea etc. The only interest I have in the big three is to possibly buy a few shares dirt cheap just in case they do make it…

sweetsntreatsNovember 13th, 2008 at 7:20 am

fair enough. i can’t be bothered to make a video for youtube but the reason i said it looks like you’re using an underlay is because you sketch a silhoutte and then fill in the part lines. You’re not sketching surfaces or in a 3D manner. that’s all. a bit strange to me, but whatever. truce
