Starting to look like Z brush. Pretty cool.

I noticed playing around with the pre alpha the limits on size and weight dont goto extremes. Like muscle mass and fat mass. Will these new features be able to add more or will the limits be changed to go much higher? Personally I would like to be able to get to pro body builder or mega fat or down to a old skeleton with skin, just increases what you can pull off charactor wise. Also will these new feature be able to pull off some of the fantasy stuff from the older release?

By far this is the coolest modeling program I have played with, and the new version looks to be amazing. Combine this with zbrush and the skys the limit design wise.

Is this coming out for OSX

funkboxingMarch 22nd, 2009 at 7:27 pm

Amazing. I can’t wait for the release. I created a few models with mh.9 and rigged them up in Blender with some great results. Makehuman is going to help really change the way 3d assets are handled. Thanks a lot for all of this brilliant work.

Really really hope the osx version will be out soon. I really enjoy following up with the dev of this software

This is great. Not to be pesky, but how’s the poly-count when exporting as an OBJ? It’d be a shame if such a great human model was overly difficult to work with in blender.

Great work!

Computer nerd wants big boobs. :)

You can use E-key in prealpha to dump an OBJ file and examine it yourself. Loading it in blender says verts = 11787, faces = 12284. Mostly quads but some tris, great topology.

it is beautiful, I mean, this software is beautiful, from a plug in to completely stand alone application that competes with other commercial human modeling applications. You are making a wonderful job! This will be the best release ever!

KAPORALDANGERMarch 24th, 2009 at 11:21 am

They have a low poly count, so you have the choice to smooth or tessalate the modela as you wish.

Guys O_O Awesome !!
in comparison with the 0.9 Version is this a quantum jump !!

This App looks powerfull, but the Interface is
horrible and doesnt look Professional

ZULUSCIFIGALAXYMarch 25th, 2009 at 11:12 pm

Boo HOO! This application is free and these people put alot of effort into it. If you don’t like it either contribute or make your own. Which you apparently can’t do.

toppojiijoMarch 28th, 2009 at 1:07 am

Not professional? I like it. I think it looks better than Poser, which makes you click on icons of pointing and gesturing hands to move the camera; its patronizing. Oh, but they are not really the same kind of program… but still.

automatvfxMarch 28th, 2009 at 1:33 am

Dont geht me wrong. I Like the Idea and the the app seems to be very powerfull ! I wished to have this features as a generator build in my C4d . But alot of these smaller 3d apps comes with colourfull Buttons and interfaces with gradiands all over it. With proffesional look i ment , interfaces like Houdini and Cinema 4d , Maya and so on. A clear set of Buttons with a usefull size and clear Icons. This one looks a bit like circus.. And dont get me wrong on this, Poser isnt a Pro App !

MHmakerMarch 28th, 2009 at 7:13 am

As professional we meant:

- Easy to access
- Easy to understand
- Essential buttons

We have developed it in collab. with openusability, and we are sure it’s a step to next generation of gui. About “circus”: consider red alone is due bad video compression..
Anyway: the buttons are png into images folder.
So, if you have a clear idea about how to improve them, you should help us just making a “skin”. It’s not required C or python knowledge, just 2D skill.
Regards. Manuel

Hi! I just love MakeHuman! Cool app! Check out my video to see an animated one^^
It would be great if there was some more facial animation support for the head. That would really shorten down modeling time…
