i Wanna get one, but im a bit concerned about the time it takes to clone sounds…..

opinionatorXMay 3rd, 2008 at 9:13 pm

Does the Mimik software sample all the layers of the sound it’s trying to mimic or just the top layer? For example you have a piano that may have 5 layers for to added velocity exppersions like wood noises and string rings. So its merely just sampling what it hears and looping it to play out.

Good question.

You can set the software to sample anywhere from two to 128 layers (in multiples of two).

If you have any other questions check out the forum on our website: openlabs(dot)com.

Thanks.

Would you BUY A NEW COMPUTER when you want more programs? If I wanted photoshop, what if I had to BUY a computer with it built in? CRAZY RIGHT? well thats what we’ve been doing.

THIS is what ALL of us need. REASON is the beginning of that thinking, and THIS is the hardware. Protools, and THATS IT! DONE! I am gonna buy ONLY this next. ALL of us should.

C4INEDJune 18th, 2008 at 10:00 pm

IM BUYING MINE SOON OOOH YEAAAH !!!

m0dularJuly 3rd, 2008 at 4:32 am

Red Keyboard!… It’s called a Nord.

kalamazooboomDecember 11th, 2008 at 10:33 pm

Nah man, Protools doesn’t come with and anything that great, and everybody has Reason now a days, so it’s sounds are getting tired. Even though I’d never buy one (I use the mpc and the fantom) I respect the fact that this shit has amazing sounds on it. TIMBALAND uses the stock sounds on this joint.

jaymitch23December 18th, 2008 at 9:52 am

Timbaland uses every sound, he is a music genius

YaMA2ndMUSICFebruary 8th, 2009 at 7:16 pm

hi! i want my answer of some of you guys.
Is it better to buy a studiokeyboard+macpro or
openlabs keyboard this one on the vid with built in computer or a studio keyboard+hplaptop?

kurtgainzFebruary 19th, 2009 at 8:41 am

Looks like we can now bootleg keyboards just like we bootleg cds and movies. i wonder what Korg, Roland, and Yamaha feel about this. Because really you could get a module and rip it off and take it back and get all of the sounds for free.Or simply ask friend to borrow his equipment rip it with mimik and there you go.

ZeddyX001March 20th, 2009 at 1:03 am

This a revolutionary piece of equipment, this changes the whole way producer/engineer artist will work in the studio. Damn amazing.

EssJayBeatzApril 1st, 2009 at 5:55 pm

yeh man, thats very true

i bet open labs aint popular amungs other keyboard manufacturers

Weissman111April 17th, 2009 at 11:33 am

It’s only multisampling – nothing new there.

PadroPadro22May 26th, 2009 at 8:44 pm

This Neko/Meko model is the BEST way to go. When I say best I mean if you have the 3 to 6 G to spend on it go for it! MANY top flight producers vouch for it, and choose it over ALL other options such as desktop or laptop setups running multiple hardware.
